“Back to the Basics: The Next Decade of Real Estate”

About Me

Hello and thanks for visiting my blog.

Born in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by entrepreneurs, I learned early what was necessary to fulfill my personal and financial future. I was fortunate enough to be adopted into a very successful family, success defined beyond merely materialistic goals.

I have a wonderful family, my mother, father, adopted father (my dad), an older brother, and younger twin brother and sister. All my family still resides on the West Coast. My mother sacrificed a great deal in her life to make sure we were taken care of.  She worked three jobs for much of my childhood, doing whatever she could without accepting handouts from the family. My adopted father, Jim, was a blessing and was there for us when we needed him. I have been fortunate to get to know my birth father, Jim also, who I have become very close to.

Although I miss the West Coast, I have lived in the South East for about 15 years. I have a wonderful wife of 9 years, Debra, 3 dogs (Jesse, Casey and Cedar, our children) and I have to mention our new stray dog, Sasha or my wife would be very upset. If I would agree, my wife would have twenty dogs and live on a huge plot of land. She collects strays like they were a hobby. I’m just not there yet..

I’ll explain a little about what made me finally start putting my thoughts online. I have been dedicated to Mentoring, Training, Educating and Speaking to Investors for years and thoroughly enjoy helping people become successful in this industry. It is my sincere belief that Real Estate is one of the best vehicles for wealth known to man. This market is fantastic for most, but the time for education and understanding has never been more important. These are the times when we can set up our retirements, but these are also the times where many speculative investors will risk their future by not following a strategy for success.

I have flipped, rehabbed, purchased and transacted over 400 Residential Properties in my 12 years as an investor. I am currently involved in Developments throughout Florida and Alabama, and running campaigns for many of the developers who in trouble this year. I have recently entered into building Green Quality Living at Affordable Prices. This business is changing and we must change with it.

I wish I would have had more mentors when I started. There is so much more available to investors nowadays. I have studied all facets of real estate and have learned the art of Appraisals, Lending, Wholesaling, Taxation, Incorporation, Marketing, Foreclosures, Short Sales, the majority of all the basic fundamentals. I believe, as humans, we all have our faults. I am fortunate to have an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which drives me to go beyond educational standards. I have to be perfect like the rest of us with this abnormality.

What I have learned most is that anyone can still help me and I do better for myself if I can help 1 more investor learn how to become successful.

The most important studying in my life came when I was 22. I took a year off, a “sabbatical”, studying philosophy, religion and anything I could get my hands on that would make me understand psychology, why we do what we do and how to live life the fullest. I couldn’t afford college, didn’t want handouts, so a library card was my backing. I have studied every religion from Zoroastronism to Hinduism and believe there are great similarities in the cultures and belief systems to which people dedicate their lives. If I could follow a selfish path, it would be the study of philosophy. My favorite author, Fritjof Capra, was a blend of philosophy, spirituality, physics and economics. I love to educate myself, which is why I enjoy learning the systems of business and Real Estate.

All of my free online training is my way of giving back and hoping that everyone has a good chance to succeed in this market.

I wish you all success and happiness.

Sincerely,

Marc Tesla
